1. Who are you and what is your purpose?

Bordercity.com is a portal for the Lloydminster and midwest area. We provide an area with local links, news, and information that citizens of Lloydminster can relate to. It's simple, you make us your homepage and we promise to provide you with fresh local content that relates to this area.

3. Why is Bordercity.com affiliated with Lloydminsteronline.com?

Lloydminsteronline.com is a portal affiliated with the City of Lloydminster, Lloydminster Tourism Convention Authority, Lloydminster.org, and Bordercity.com. The purpose of Lloydminsteronline.com is to bring all areas of our city together on one site. This makes it easier for the visitor to narrow his search for whatever content he wishes to seek from our city.

4. How do you get my Bordercity.com mail through Outlook?

In order to receive e-mail through Outlook (either Express or the full version of Outlook) you must have your INCOMING MAIL SERVER setting set to POP.BORDERCITY.COM. Your outgoing mail server must be set to the setting that your Internet Service Provider has provided you. The username is the e-mail address you have been provided (yourname@domain.com) and your password is also the password you have been provided. Below is an example of an Outlook Express setup:

5. How come your page never seems to be updated?

If you find that our page hasn't been updated in awhile or the information is old you might be viewing a cached version of our page. Even though our page is database driven, sometimes browsers can act funny. In the event that you feel you are viewing an old version of our page you might want to delete your cache (or else known as Temporary Internet Files for Internet Explorer users). To delete your Temporary Internet Files in Internet Explorer, click on TOOLS on the menu bar, then select INTERNET OPTIONS. The window below will pop up, simply select DELETE FILES under the Temporary Internet Files section.

6. Where does your news come from?

Every Wednesday and Sunday our news is provided by the Meridian Booster in Lloydminster, every other day of the week our articles are provided by CBC or Canada.com. Our sports scores are updated daily and are provided by TSN. From time to time we have local authors / writers publishing their column(s), if you are an aspiring writer looking for some exposure, send us an example at Internet@bordercity.com.

All our services are free of charge. Of course advertising on our site costs money, all the features you see and use are free of charge.

9. Can I add my business to the business directory?

Yes. All you need to do, is go to the appropriate category you with to add your business into. In the top right corner of that page, you will see a link "Submit your business" CLick the link and follow the instructions and you are instantly added! Simple as that!

10. Why can't I access my e-mail account online?

In the event that you are having problems accessing your e-mail account through our web mail services, be sure to check the following. Make sure you are entering in the correct information. Your username is your e-mail address, not your alias (in otherwords, your username is yourname@domain.com not yourname). Make sure your password was entered in correctly and that your caps lock is not on. If you wish to check your e-mail online visit the link at the top of Bordercity.com called MY MAIL. If you are accessing your mail and you have a different domain than Bordercity.com, simply remove the exciting default domain and put in your own.
